Participation of Odessa archivists in the Ukrainian scientific conference in Mykolayiv

11-12 June 2015. Odessa archivists - V.V.Levchuk, Director of the State Archives of Odessa Region, L.H.Bilousova, Deputy Director of the State Archives, Ph.D., O.Y.Shtepko, Head of the Reference Apparatus Department, Chief Researchers - S.M.Herasymova, O.L.Tserkovna, S.E.Berezin and famous Odessa scientist, Doctor of Historical Sciences I.V.Sapozhnykov took part in the All-Ukrainian scientific conference "Literary Mykolayiv - Ataual Problems of Cultural and Historical Heritage Preservation".

The conference was organized by our colleagues and friends - State Archives of Mykolayiv Region (Director - L.L.Levchenko, Doctor of Historical Sciences), Mykolayiv Regional Organization of the National Writers Union of Ukraine, Mykolayiv Region Library Association, Central State Archive of Literature and Art of Ukraine, online magazine "Literary Mykolayiv." The conference which was held in the building of the Scientific and Pedagogical Library and the State Archives of Mykolayiv Region was attended by more than 50 scientists and literary critics; the event was covered by local and regional media.



V.V.Levchuk, Director of the State Archives of Odessa Region and member of the presidium gave opening remarks. L.H.Bilousova, Deputy Director of the State Archives, Ph.D. presented a report on "The Literary Heritage of Personal Funds of the State Archives of Odessa Region".



Odessa delegation also took part in the work of the "archival section". Employees of the State Archives presented their reports: "From the Experience of the Work of NGO "Ovid's Shore "- V.V.Levchuk; "Materials on the History of Odessa Literary Museum: Documents the Personnel Fund of Nikita Bryhin" - O.Y.Shtepko; "Documents of the State Archive of Odessa Region as a Source of Literary Study and Educational Activities in Odessa (XIX - early XX century)" - S.M.Herasymova; "Literary Life of Odessa in Reflection of the Odessa Committee of Foreign Censorship (1868-1917)" - O.L.Tserkovna; "The Literary and Journalistic Heritage of the Classical Scholars of the Richelieu Lyceum in Novorossiya University (XIX - early XX centuries)" - S.E.Berezin.




Participants of the conference emphasized the importance of attracting a wide range of sources for historical, archival and biographical researches; activation of archivists for identifying and further transmission to the public storage of documentary materials connected with the literary heritage and further development of cooperation between archives, museums and educational institutions in different cities of our country.
